What Is a Pet Portrait?
A Pet Portrait is a custom oil painting that beautifully captures the essence of your beloved pet—an irreplaceable member of your family.
At Art Studio K, we create each portrait from a single photo, using an F4-sized canvas (333 mm × 242 mm). Our artists carefully portray every detail, from the silky texture of fur and the sparkle in the eyes to unique mannerisms that make your pet truly one of a kind. Each piece evokes not only the likeness but also the warm memories and deep emotional bond you share with your companion.
Timeless Art with Classical European Techniques
Each Pet Portrait is crafted using classical European methods passed down since the Renaissance. The process begins with a tempera underpainting, followed by multiple translucent layers of oil paint. This time-honored technique results in rich color depth, gentle gradation, and subtle light effects that bring your pet to life on canvas.
Trained in Italy, our artists blend technical precision with emotional depth, creating portraits that are both realistic and soulfully expressive. The result is a work of art that radiates warmth and sincerity.
A Lasting Memory, Full of Emotion
Whether you’re celebrating a beloved pet still by your side or commemorating one who has passed, a Pet Portrait serves as a touching and enduring keepsake.
From the tilt of the head and curve of the ears to the gentle position of the tail, every nuance is recreated with care. This attention to detail transforms a single image into a cherished memory—one that brings comfort and joy every time you look at it.
How Your Portrait Comes to Life
Once your order is placed, we work from your chosen photo to faithfully capture your pet’s image. After finalizing the composition, we keep you updated with progress photos throughout the painting process. You can also request final touches, such as background color adjustments, to suit your preferences.
In some cases, we may recommend simplifying the background to place greater focus on your pet’s expression and form.
F4 Size: Compact Yet Powerful
The F4 canvas (333 mm × 242 mm) strikes the perfect balance between intimacy and presence. It’s compact enough to fit comfortably in any room—living room, bedroom, hallway, or study—yet large enough to make a statement as a true piece of art.
Its versatility and elegant proportions make it easy to display, adding warmth and charm to your space.
Order Timeline and Delivery
After confirming your order and reference photo, the painting process begins. Completion takes approximately three weeks. Each finished portrait is delivered unframed and securely packaged, allowing you to choose a frame that suits your décor and personal style.
A Thoughtful Gift from the Heart
Pet Portraits from Art Studio K make meaningful gifts for a variety of occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, pet memorials, or simply to show appreciation for a fellow animal lover.
Each portrait is a one-of-a-kind expression of love, combining fine artistry with heartfelt sentiment. It’s more than a painting—it’s a tribute to the special bond between humans and animals.
At Art Studio K, we honor that connection by creating artwork that will be treasured for a lifetime.
Please note: The sample images shown are for reference only. Each portrait is uniquely hand-painted based on your photo.

Momotaro Mama –
I had my late rabbit painted from a photo I had. The moment I saw the finished work, it felt as if my beloved pet had returned right before my eyes, and tears came to my eyes. The soft fur, the gentle and round eyes, and even the delicate coloring inside the ears are meticulously rendered.
The clear sky and the warmth of the wooden floor in the background further enhance the rabbit’s serene expression. When displayed in the living room, the whole family naturally stops in front of it, reminiscing about our memories together.
